New Delhi [India], February 27 : Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party and said that their government has looted the public.
Sirsa added that their liquor scam, school scam, bus scam and now cameras are coming to light and added that they used to say that the cameras would be used to catch theft, but the thieves themselves took the cameras away.
He said that the previous government (AAP) has not left any scam unturned and there will be a need for CAG report to be called on the camera scam as well.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "This (AAP) government has looted the public with both hands. Liquor scam, school scam, bus scam and now camera (CCTV) scam are also coming to light."
"They used to say that cameras will catch theft but the thieves themselves took away the cameras... they have left no scam unturned... I think CAG report will have to be called on cameras too", Sirsa added.
Om Prakash Sharma, BJP MLA from Vishwas Nagar, raised his significant concerns regarding the installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi. He claimed that the previous government had installed CCTV cameras throughout the city, but there were huge discrepancies in their payments.
Sirsa also spoke on BJP MLA Neelam Pahalwan's proposal to change the name of the Najafgarh constituency to Nahargarh. The Delhi minister said that it is a good proposal and it is a matter of emotions rather than religion.
"This is a good proposal. This is not a matter related to any religion but a matter related to emotions", Sirsa said.
While speaking in the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Thursday, BJP MLA Neelam Pahalwan said that her constituency is from the rural areas of Delhi and borders three areas of Haryana. She added that when emperor Shah Alam II took control of Najafgarh, there was a lot of oppression in this region.
Pahalwan also explained the role of Raja Nahar Singh, who played an important role in bringing the area back to the Delhi province during the 1857 revolt.
"You know that my constituency is from the rural areas of Delhi, and it borders three areas of Haryana. When the Mughal ruler, Emperor Shah Alam II, took control of Najafgarh, there was a lot of oppression in the region. During the 1857 revolt, Raja Nahar Singh fought and brought the Najafgarh area into the Delhi province," Pahalwan said.
