
"Advantage Assam 2.0 summit will pave path for prosperous Assam": State BJP chief Dilip Saikia

Guwahati (Assam) [India], February 27 : The last three days have been historic for our state and have opened the door to immense possibilities for a bright future. Through the three-day event, we were able to showcase Assam's unique culture globally and witness an unprecedented level of success in strengthening Assam's economic foundation and establishing connectivity, Dilip Saikia, Assam BJP President, said in a statement on Thursday.
In particular, to attract more investors to Assam, the state government successfully organized the "Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Connectivity Summit" on 25th and 26th February 2025 at the Assam Veterinary College grounds in Khanapara, Guwahati.
This event, which gained support not only from within the country but also from abroad, is a matter of pride for all the people of Assam.
Under the visionary leadership of our hardworking Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam secured investments worth Rs 4.91 lakh crore during the two-day summit, marking it as the largest investment summit in Assam's history.
Agreements signed by successful entrepreneurs and institutions from both India and abroad in sectors such as tourism, healthcare, education, technology, artificial intelligence, transportation, and art will serve as significant milestones in Assam's development journey.
We are deeply grateful to our respected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the summit and stated that "A for Assam" will one day be known to the world. His remarks have propelled us towards a bright future.
We also express our gratitude to Tata, Adani, Reliance, JSW, SR, Vedanta, Global Health Limited, and other representatives from India and abroad who have committed investments in various sectors of Assam.
In addition to thanking the participants, we also acknowledge the support of Central Ministers such as Subrahmanyam Jaishankar (Minister of External Affairs), Ashwini Vaishnaw (Minister of Information & Broadcasting), Piyush Goyal (Minister of Commerce & Industry), Nitin Gadkari (Minister of Road Transport & Highways), Hardeep Singh Puri (Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas), Sarbananda Sonowal (Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways), and Jyotiraditya Scindia (Minister of Civil Aviation). Their encouragement and support have been invaluable, the statement read.
The summit's success is due to the participation of representatives from 75 countries, heads of missions from 67 countries, representatives from 9 allied nations, and the Assam government ministers, legislators, and civil servants who made this event a success.
