Nagaon (Assam) [India], November 11 : Ahead of the by-polls, Assam State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita said that people have trusted the BJP and the government's work.
Speaking from Samaguri, the Assam State BJP president stated that the BJP-led NDA coalition is expected to secure victories in all five assembly constituencies where by-polls are being held on November 13.
"We are very much confident that, our candidates of NDA will win in all five seats in this by-elections. Today, I am in Samaguri and our party candidate Diplu Ranjan Sarma will definitely win in Samaguri this time. Today is the last day of the election campaign. People have trusted BJP and the government's works," Bhabesh Kalita said.
"Congress is now in frustration. Earlier, Congress didn't do anything, they did only corruption. The people of Assam and the country are not with the Congress, people are now with the NDA," Bhabesh Kalita said.
Bhabesh Kalita also blamed Congress MP Rakibul Hussain, for his alleged role in the recent incidents of violence in Samaguri.
"Rakibul Hussain (Congress MP) is the manager of corruption. He also tried this time, but he failed. The people of Samaguri assembly constituency are now against him and they will cast their vote in favour of the BJP candidate. Earlier, we won four out of five seats, but this time we will win all five seats. The people now want change," Kalita told ANI.
The state BJP president on Monday - the last day of the election campaign, took part in a rally in Assam's Samaguri in support of the party candidate.
The upcoming by-elections cover five assembly constituencies, including Samaguri, Behali, Bongaigaon, Sidli and Dholai.
