"AIIMS Gorakhpur is moving ahead on path of progress": UP CM Yogi Adityanath at stone laying ceremony of Vishram Sadan

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 18 : Emphasising the Prime Minister's vision of integrating health services with the goal of a developed India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Gorakhpur is progressing steadily.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a 500-bed 'Powergrid Vishram Sadan' at AIIMS Gorakhpur.
Adityanath noted that AIIMS Gorakhpur, established in 2021, is located in the heart of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
"AIIMS Gorakhpur is moving ahead on the path of progress; it is a matter of happiness. It is situated in the heart of eastern Uttar Pradesh. I am confident that we will be able to contribute to fulfilling Prime Minister Modi's vision of linking health services with the development of a modern India," Yogi Adityanath said.
The upcoming shelter, designed to accommodate up to 500 individuals, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 44 crore. The Power Grid Corporation of India is supporting the project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
This facility aims to benefit patients and their attendants who travel from remote areas for treatment at AIIMS Gorakhpur.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had dedicated the fully functional AIIMS Gorakhpur complex to the nation, which was built at a cost of over Rs 1,000 crore. The foundation stone for the complex was laid by the Prime Minister on July 22, 2016.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 91 crore at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology in Gorakhpur district.
Prior to this, the CM inaugurated a grain-based distillery plant worth Rs 1,200 crore under the Super Mega Project at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA).
