"Direct loot of govt money": BJP alleges Delhi CMO social media handles changed by AAP
Feb 13, 2025
New Delhi [India], February 14 : Bharatiya Janata Party Delhi president Virendraa Sachdeva launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, claiming that all the official government-associated handles of Delhi Chief Minister's Office (@DelhiCMO) were changed to 'Arvind Kejriwal at work,' and demanded intervention from the Lieutenant Governor.
Earlier, according to BJP, the social media handles affiliated to the CMO had their names changed and then an hour later deleted. Currently, the Delhi CMO's social media handles are not accessible publicly.
The party's Delhi president Sachdeva shared a printout of the purported account change with over 9 lakh followers. The description of the account read, "Former Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Arvind Kejriwal revolutionized Delhi's governance with reforms in education, healthcare, electricity and public services."
Calling for the LG to direct the IT department to file an FIR and start an investigation, Sachdeva told ANI, "Arvind Kejriwal changed the account of Delhi CMO and made it his own account, this is a direct loot of government money... This is digital loot... We have demanded from LG that the IT department of Delhi government should immediately file an FIR, start an investigation and take strict action."
Earlier, in another post on his personal account, Sachdeva also accused caretaker CM Atishi of directing the change in the account name, "It is unfortunate that after the defeat of the government of Arvind Kejriwal and Ms Atishi, today, on the orders of the present caretaker Chief Minister, the ex-post of "CMO Delhi" has been made the personal post of Arvind Kejriwal."
"Sir, this is a case of digital loot by the government and it needs to be investigated. I request you to get this investigated and put a stop to this loot," Sachdeva said while urging the Delhi LG.
Meanwhile, Sachdeva also hit out at AAP, blaming them for power cuts in the national capital, alleging a "collusion between caretaker CM Atishi and the power department.
"There is no power cut anywhere in Delhi, it is just that the collusion between the acting Chief Minister and the Power DISCOM is such that time is being wasted in repairing the breakdowns here and there," he said.
