For transgender community of Kolkata, this Women's Day was extra special

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Mar 9 : As a mark of inclusivity on the International Women's Day, a salon in West Bengal's Kolkata invited transgenders for a free grooming session.
Celebrating the womanhood, scores of people from the community visited the salon and got makeovers including facials, hair styling among others.
"On International Women's Day, we transgenders are being given cosmetic treatments over here. This is quite unique as till today, we people have only been discriminated," Ranjita Sinha told ANI.
"Over here we are being welcomed so warmly, humbly that we do not feel at all that we are not a part of the society. So, that inclusiveness is very much over here," said Debanjana Banerjee.
International Women's Day was celebrated with great fervour across the world on Sunday with the theme - 'I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights.'
