Four children, driver killed after tractor overturns in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 6 : Four children and a driver were killed while two other children sustained injuries after a tractor overturned in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district on Monday, an official said.
The accident occurred in Tineta village under the jurisdiction of Chargawan police station in the district, the police added.
The deceased have been identified as Lucky Markam (10), Anup Barkade (12), Rajveer Gond (13), Devendra Barkade (15) and the driver Dharmendra Thakur (18). The two injured children have been identified as Dalpat Gond (12) and Vikas Uike (10) and are undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital.
All the children were residents of the same Tineta village.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sonali Dubey said, "A tractor overturned due to overspeeding in Tineta village in the district in which four children and the driver died while two other children sustained injuries in the incident. On getting the information about the incident, the police reached the spot."
After the post mortem, the bodies will be handed over to the family, she added.
Meanwhile, Jabalpur district administration has announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the family of the deceased and Rs 10,000 to the injured.
"The district administration has approved financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the family of the deceased and Rs 10,000 to the injured," Official handle of Jabalpur Collector poster on X.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also instructed Jabalpur collector to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh (each) to the family of the deceased.

"Five tribal children have died and some have been injured after a tractor overturned in Jabalpur. I have instructed the Collector to provide an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh (each) to all the children and asked him to inform the election commission," CM Yadav said.
