Palamu (Jharkhand) [India], November 3 : Union Minister and BJP's election in-charge for Jharkhand, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday accused Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and the JMM government of corruption, misusing funds allocated for crucial programs like MGNREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission, and money meant for the widows.
"Hemant Soren and the JMM government have done the corruption in the money allotted to them for MGNREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission, leave aside everything they have done corruption in the money that was allocated for the widow sisters," he said.
The Union Minister said that the alleged corruption against Soren and the JMM government will be investigated adding that they have misused the money of the central government.
"It will be investigated - where all the money which the central government has allocated to them has gone. This government has misused the money of the central government," Singh said.
Earlier, Chouhan accused Jharkhand CM's Wife, Kalpana Soren of diverting attention amid the controversy surrounding the CM's age.
His comment came after Hemant Soren's wife and JMM MLA Kalpana Soren accused BJP of being scared of Hemant Soren and not getting enough topics, hence, they are bringing this 'age controversy' to the limelight.
"From where winning or losing point has come in this. Don't divert from the topic, speak the facts...Why are you trying to divert the facts...This shows the ego, whatever they want they will write," Chouhan said.
"Hemant Soren ji is an amazing magician. He stated his age in 2019 as 42 years, and by 2024, it became 49 years," he added.
On Friday, in a counterattack to the controversies surrounding Hemant Soren's age, his wife and Kalpana Soren questioned whether age has become such a major factor. She further took a jibe at the BJP, saying that they are scared of Hemant Soren and are not getting enough topics, hence, they are bringing this 'age controversy' to the limelight.
"Has age become such a major factor?... I think if you (BJP) are so scared of Hemant Soren, you are not getting any topic...You have seen your future and your fear says that you have been so scared of Hemant Soren ever since you sent him to jail and he came out...Today, the people of Jharkhand trust Hemant Soren...," Kalpana Soren said on Friday.
Elections for 81 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly will be conducted in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23.
