Washington D.C [U.S.A], May 7 : The biggest fashion night of Hollywood took place today and stars brought their fashion A-game to the pink carpet at the Met Gala 2019.
Lady Gaga, Serena Williams, Billy Porter, Harry Styles, Katy Perry, Hailey Bieber were among some of the early guests, reported People.
The stars went all out with their fashion choices this year, from elegantly carrying couture gowns and tuxedos to some outrageous outfits. Most of the celebrities chose dramatic looks while some of the stars including Deepika Padukone, Isha Ambani, and Kacey Musgraves graced the event in beautiful shades of pink, channeling their inner princesses.
The most fashionable celebrities arrived one after the other at the event in New York City for a night dedicated to unique fashion, design, and art.
Over the years, there have been a lot of memorable appearances including Rihanna's Pope-inspired silver frock by Comme des Garcons from 2018.
This year, the theme for the event was 'Camp: Notes on Fashion'. Co-host Lady Gaga was a major standout at the event and her looks stole all the limelight!
Gaga kicked off the pink carpet in a Brandon Maxwell pink gown before changing into a black gown by the designer with an umbrella as an accessory. She then followed it up with two more fierce looks.
Billy Porter pulled off the most dramatic look ever. He graced the pink carpet draped in gold and was carried on a velvet litter by six shirtless men wearing shiny gold pants and headpieces.
Porter sported a spectacular custom "Sun God" ensemble by The Blonds which included a bejeweled catsuit outfitted with 10-foot wings and a 24-karat gold headpiece.
However, Porter wasn't the only one who caught everyone's attention on the carpet. Harry Styles made a statement in his Met Gala debut.
The 25-year-old singer opted for a sheer Gucci top with just the right amount of ruffle and sleek black lace detailing paired with high-waist pants with a chunky pair of shiny men's black shoes.
Kylie Jenner arrived with her boyfriend and rapper Travis Scott, who rocked a military-inspired ensemble similar to last year's utility suit with a harness on top. The 21-year-old makeup mogul stunned in a lilac see-through mermaid-picturesque dress, fur stole and perfectly purple wig.
Another star who stunned everyone with her looks was Katy Perry. She lit up the room in her Moschino by Jeremy Scott outfit, which is also a working Swarovski crystal chandelier, plus bow-topped heeled pumps.
Kacey Musgraves made her Met Gala debut in a Barbie-inspired look from Jeremy Scott's Moschino including a hairdryer clutch. She rounded off her look with Aldo heels and Forevermark diamonds.
Zendaya too upped her fashion game. The former Disney Channel star looked like a total princess in her Tommy Hilfiger Cinderella-inspired ball gown. She stole all the limelight when her dress not only lit up, but she dramatically dropped her glass slipper on the pink carpet.
Bella Hadid was a vision to behold when she debuted a new 'do on the carpet and showed some skin in the jewelled, cut-out Moschino by Jeremy Scott design.
Emma Stone stole a million hearts when she slayed the pink carpet in a silver jumpsuit by Louis Vuitton.
Naomi Campbell looked stunning in a bubblegum-pink chiffon gown with feathered train, lace tights and strappy heels coupled with archival Bulgari jewellery.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were at their stylish best while making their Met Gala debut. Miley wore a peppermint-stripe sequin mini dress and Swiss-dot tights with archival Bulgari jewellery, while Liam sported a black suit.
Emily Blunt looked absolutely stunning in a glittering gold Michael Kors Collection gown with floral appliques and matching Stephen Jones headpiece.
Hailey Bieber channeled her inner fashion goddess in a pale pink Alexander Wang backless gown and topped it off with a high, bow-accented pony and Bulgari diamonds.
Isha Ambani grabbed eyeballs at the 2019 Met Gala, looking every bit dreamy in a lilac gown. For the gala, Isha opted for a breathtakingly beautiful Prabal Gurung lilac ball gown. She accessorised her outfit with an exquisite diamond necklace, a stack of stunning rings and drop earrings.
The fashion jamboree was held inside New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The show included 175 pieces from men's and women's wear.
