Jharkhand Elections: "People have chosen path of development," says Kalpana Soren

Gandey (Jharkhand) [India], November 20 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's wife and JMM candidate from the Gandey Assembly seat, Kalpana Soren, on Wednesday said that the people of the state have chosen the path of development and are casting their votes.
"People have chosen the path of development and they are casting their votes...now only a few hours are left for voting to end...by 23rd (November) results will also be out," she told ANI.
Kalpana further expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the people of Gandey, acknowledging their unwavering love and support wherever she goes.
"I am grateful especially towards the people of Gandey, wherever I go, I get their love. I wish that I continue to receive his love like this," she said.
Polling for the second phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections across 38 constituencies in 12 districts concluded on Wednesday, recording an approximate voter turnout of 67.59 per cent till 5.00 pm.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Jamtara recorded the highest turnout at 76.16 per cent, followed by Pakur with 75.88 per cent, and Deoghar with 72.46 per cent.
Bokaro recorded the lowest turnout of 60.97 per cent, with Dhanbad at 63.39 per cent, Dumka at 71.74 per cent, Giridih at 65.89 per cent, Godda at 67.24 per cent, Hazaribagh at 64.41 per cent, Ramgarh at 71.98 per cent, and Sahebganj at 65.63 per cent.
The state capital, Ranchi, recorded a turnout of 72.01 per cent by 5.00 pm.
Earlier in the day, Kalpana expressed confidence in the victory of the Mahagathbandhan alliance in the assembly elections, stating that the people of the state will vote for Hemant Soren and our Mahagathbandhan.
"I am confident about my victory as I have worked very hard for the people of Gandey...In the next 5 years, I would like to continue the work...People in the state are going to vote for Hemant Soren and our Mahagathbandhan (alliance)," she told ANI.
She also accused the BJP of prioritizing division over discussions about development.
"This is the first time after the formation of Jharkhand that the women in the state have been given the respect that they deserve...Hemant Soren has been working very well as a young Chief Minister. They (BJP) do not want to talk about development, they only want to talk about division. We are definitely going to form our government in the state."
The primary contest in the Jharkhand assembly polls is between the Mahagathbandhan and BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The ruling JMM-led Mahagathbandhan Alliance includes Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
