Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) [India], November 5 : Ahead of Jharkhand assembly polls, Congress leader Sachin Pilot said on Tuesday that the BJP "remembers" the issues like Uniform Civil Code and NRC just ahead of the elections and does not talk about farmers and development.
"BJP, right before the elections, remembers the issues of the Uniform Civil Code, NRC, Ram Mandir and other issues. They do not remember about farmers, fertilizers, electricity, water, industry and issues of development," Pilot told reporters here, taking a dig at the BJP.
"You should ask for a vote on the basis of your work... The public also shattered the BJP's slogan of 400 paar. Today there is a central government running on the support of the coalition partners as the public didn't give a clear mandate to any party, " he said.
"The people are upset with the behaviour of the central government and they will take revenge via the medium of ballot and we will form the government here, " he claimed.
He also accused the BJP-led Centre of holding funds for the Jharkhand as there was a non-BJP government in the state.
"If there is one example of discrimination - Jharkhand state is that example. The central govt has intentionally done that and devoided it of the funds as there is the opposition's govt in the state. We, the INDIA alliance will win the elections," Pilot alleged.
On the 'batenge toh katenge' remark of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Pilot said, "Such things should not be said. During the campaign, we should talk about development issues and people. Such things are said to divert people's attention..."
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 13 and 20.
The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
