Washington D.C [U.S.A], May 7: Keeping in line with the 'Camp' theme, the Kardashian sisters dazzled at this year's Met Gala pink carpet.
Kim Kardashian West made an appearance at the big event in a beaded latex Thierry Mugler dress to celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute's new theatrical exhibition, "Camp: Notes on Fashion."
Kardashian completed her look with "wet" hair, glistening KKW Beauty and TATCHA makeup and droplets on her nails. The model was present with husband Kayne West who was simply dressed in a grey zipper and trousers.
"This is the first time in 20 years Mr Mugler has designed for the House of Mugler. So to come and design this gown for me is such an honour. This is about eight months in the making. He envisioned me this California girl stepping out of the ocean, wet, dripping," the 38-year-old model was quoted by People as saying.Kim also took her fans down the memory lane by sharing pictures of all her Met Gala appearances. Kendall and Kylie Jenner were not far behind as they too managed to turn heads at the fashion jamboree.
23-year-old Kendall wore a bright orange, feathered gown, accessorising with jewels from Tiffany & Co. In a detailed Instagram post, the official account of Versace posted a picture of the model from the pink carpet and explained the intricacies of Kendall's outfit.
"Kendall Jenner in an Atelier Versace gown crafted from a sheer tulle base enriched with chevron-pattern crystal embroidery. The dress is paired with a matching feather trim, delicately crafted by hand," the designer explained.
The 21-year-old makeup mogul, on the other hand, stunned in a lilac see-through mermaid-picturesque dress, fur stole and perfectly purple wig."Kylie Jenner attends the 2019 Met Gala in a strapless Atelier Versace mermaid silhouette gown with a feather trim. The dress is completely hand-embroidered with Swarovski crystals in a chain pattern," Versace wrote on their Instagram page.
Kylie also posed with her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, who rocked a military-inspired ensemble similar to last year's utility suit with a harness on top.
The looks of the sisters were a nod to the 2019 gala's theme "Camp: Notes on Fashion," inspired by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay, "Notes on Camp," which describes camp as "love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration."
