New Delhi [India], February 2 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari claimed that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi would lose in the upcoming Assembly elections in the national capital and BJP government would be formed.
Tiwari addressed a public meeting in Narela on Sunday, stating, "Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi are losing the election. BJP government is going to be formed in Delhi. We will make Delhi the best national capital region in the world. We will increase facilities for workers and poor people as well as industrial belts. We will provide electricity and its price will be reasonable. No one can tolerate the increased electricity bills that are coming today. On February 5, the people of Delhi will bring BJP to power by pressing the lotus button."
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi refuted claims made by the Aam Aadmi Party and assured that the BJP guarantees not a single slum in Delhi would be demolished, and welfare schemes for the public would not be halted.
Addressing a public rally in Delhi's RK Puram, the Prime Minister highlighted that the BJP would provide nutritious meals to slum dwellers for just Rs 5 and set up a welfare board for auto drivers and domestic workers with insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh.
"A welfare board will be set up for auto drivers and domestic workers, providing them with insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh. The BJP government will also assist with children's school fees. I give another guarantee: these AAP-Da people are spreading falsehoods, but not a single slum in Delhi will be demolished. The welfare schemes for the public in Delhi will not be stopped," PM Modi asserted.
On January 12, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the slums of Delhi would be "demolished" in the next five years, rendering people "homeless" if the BJP voted to power.
Further, the Prime Minister emphasised that the people of Purvanchal had played a crucial role in making him a Member of Parliament and the Prime Minister.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on February 5, with the vote counting on February 8.
