New Delhi [India], September 22 : Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that he was forced to resign as the CM as the court has restricted him from working and people wanted to know what happened to the promise of ending corruption.
Devender Yadav said, "In the last 10 years the Chief Minister used to say that I will take all decisions after asking the people. If he had to resign to prove his innocence before the people, he should have done it when there were charges against him. Arvind Kejriwal is forced to resign (as the Delhi CM) as the court has restricted him from working. The public wants to know what happened to the promise of ending corruption. Many leaders of AAP have been in jail on charges of corruption. They should think about the concerns of the public. They have been exposed in front of the public."
He further said that people want to know what happened to his promises of development and building 500 schools.
"Where are the hospitals? He assured that people would get free water. People are drinking dirty water. Tanker mafias are getting the encouragement. He is the same person who used to say long ago that if I become the CM I would run my activities from a small house. Ever since he resigned his leaders are asking the government house for him. Former CM Sheila Dikshit had worked to make Delhi a world-class city," Yadav said.
Former Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that he resigned because he has no greed for CM's chair and had joined the politics for the country. Arvind Kejriwal asserted that he is not a politician and the allegations have affected him.
Addressing 'Janta ki Adalat' at Jantar Mantar , Kejriwal said, "I resigned because I did not come here (in politics) to do corruption. I don't have any greed for CM's chair. I did not come here to earn money. I used the work in Income Tax, I could've earned crores if I wanted to earn money. I came in politics for country, for Bharat Mata, to change country's politics."
Kejriwal announced his resignation after he was released from the Tihar jail after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in a corruption case related to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam.
