Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 9 : Ahead of Maharashtra Assembly elections, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Shiv Sena leader and Actor Govinda along with Shaina NC visited the Mumbadevi Temple on Friday, seeking blessings for victory in the upcoming polls.

Kiren Rijiju exuded confidence in the Mahayuti alliance's victory in the assembly election.
"We have come here to take the blessings of Devi (Mumbadevi). After seeing the atmosphere here, I can say that the Mahayuti alliance will get a clear majority," Rijiju said.
Meanwhile, Govinda said that he prayed to Goddess Mumba Devi for Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC contesting from the Mumbadevi Assembly constituency.
"I pray to Mumbadevi that our candidate Shaina NC wins the election from here," Govinda said.

Recently, a comment by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant about Shaina NC stirred controversy. While campaigning for Congress MLA Amin Patel, Sawant allegedly referred to Shaina as "imported maal," remarking, "Look at her situation. She spent her entire career in the BJP and now has joined another party. Imported 'maal' doesn't work here; only original 'maal' does." Sawant later apologized, claiming he was "deliberately targeted."

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42.
