Ajmer (Rajasthan) [India], October 10 : Congress leader Sachin Pilot launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rajasthan government on Thursday and said that "law and order have collapsed" in the state.
"In 10 months of Rajasthan government, the General Elections have been held, law and order has collapsed, bureaucracy is at its peak, ministers have resigned and we don't even know whether they are ministers now or not, the CM is not free to do his duties, and this confusion is only causing trouble for the people. A lot of work is not being done, even anything which was started by the previous government has been stopped right now," said Pilot.
The Congress leader further criticised the Bhajanlal Sharma-led government, claiming that they have not fulfilled the hopes of the people.
"The expectations people had of the government when it was formed 10 months ago, they have not been able to fulfil those expectations. Whether it is the young people, or farmers or even their own budget announcements, so the government is failing right now. This is happening because the government is stretched thin and the people are being punished for it," he added.
He also said that Congress will be winning the by-elections in the state, whenever they will be announced.
He said, "Whenever by-elections are announced in Rajasthan, Congress will win on all seats, we have prepared for it for it long before and I don't think Haryana election results will have much impact on these by-elections because this is a different election, different region, and it is happening in different circumstances. In the lok sabha elections, we had not been able to defeat BJP for the last two times, and this time we had defeated them at eleven places."
Speaking about the Haryana election results, he said that the party had tried to talk about an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) but it did not go through, "In Haryana we gave a seat to CPM, we had talks with AAP but the issue could not be settled at the end. In Jammu and Kashmir we have a INDIA alliance, which is a national alliance, it is still a strong alliance no one should be doubting that," he said.
Reiterating the unity of the alliance, he added, "We could not do an alliance with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir for certain reasons, but in Maharashtra and Jharkhand we already have an alliance. Anyone can try to bring enmity between the alliance, but Mallikarjun Kharge, the whole congress party and the whole alliance was standing together, is standing together and will stand together. BJP looks at this unity and gets scared."
