Mumbai's Bengali community perform rituals at Kalimata Mandir in Shivaji Park on occasion of Kali Puja

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 1 : Mumbai's Bengali community gathered to perform rituals at Kalimata Mandir, Bengali Club at Shivaji Park on the auspicious occasion of Kali Puja.
Mrinal Purkashto, General Secretary, the Bengali club, said, "For 30 years rituals have been performed here. Bengali and non-Bengali people all visit the temple. Puja will start at 9.30 pm and will continue till 12.30 pm. Then there will be bhog distribution. 1,000 to 1,500 people will be provided food. Annakut festival will be celebrated the day after tomorrow and 100 bhog items will be prepared."
On the auspicious day of Diwali, Shivaji Park hosted its renowned fireworks show, drawing crowd.
People have decorated their houses with colorful lights, rangolis, and flowers to celebrate Diwali.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ayodhya made history during the 'Deepotsav-2024' celebrations by setting two Guinness World Records.
The Ayodhya district administration, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, illuminated the Saryu River with over 25 lakh diyas, marking the largest display of oil lamps ever recorded.
Another record was set for the most people performing 'diya' rotation simultaneously. Diwali is observed on Amavasya (or the new moon), the 15th day of the month of Kartik, every year.
