Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 5 : Launching a blistering attack against Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson CR Kesavan on Tuesday said that Rahul Gandhi's convenient and calculative concerns for the caste census are not only dishonest but also phony and fake. He further added that Rahul Gandhi does not practice whatever he preaches.
"Rahul Gandhi's convenient and calculative concerns for the caste census are not only dishonest but also phony and fake...He never practices what he preaches and his actions in reality have always been in complete contradiction to the principles of social justice," said Kesavan.
Hitting out further, the BJP National Spokesperson called the Congress party unjust and discriminative.
"The Congress party ever since Jawaharlal Nehru's days have been unjust and had a discriminative mind when it comes to fair representation of the deprived and marginalized sections of the society. Rahul Gandhi also shares the same prejudiced mindset," he added.
"Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are all members of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and there are nine board members in the foundation. How many Dalits and tribals are board members out of the nine board members?... This shows the blatant hypocrisy of Rahul Gandhi..." the BJP leader pointed out.
Meanwhile, Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi chaired a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Raebareli. DISHA committee meetings are held quarterly, and chaired by the MP. Earlier in the day, Gandhi inaugurated the newly-built Shaheed Chowk and Degree College Chauraha in Raebareli. He also visited and offered prayers at Shri Peepaleshwar Mahadevji Mandir and Hanuman Mandir in the city.
Gandhi, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Raebareli, is on a one-day visit to the district. During his visit, he will also inaugurate roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Notably, Gandhi won the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 general elections by a significant margin of 390,030 votes.
