Skydiving fest to commence in Ujjain from Nov 9, says MP Minister Lodhi

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 7 : Madhya Pradesh Minister of Department of Culture, Tourism and Religious Trusts and Endowment, Dharmendra Singh Lodhi has said that the State Tourism Board is going to organise the fourth edition of the Skydiving festival in Ujjain district from November 9.
The Skydiving festival will be organised for three months in the district till February 9, the state minister (Independent Charge) said, and added that tourists will get the thrilling experience of taking a glimpse of the city of Mahakal from a height of 10,000 feet.
He further stressed that skydiving would be organised by an organisation with the help of trained skydivers having high standards and it would be completely safe.
Principal Secretary of the Department of Tourism and Culture and Managing Director of the Tourism Board, Shiv Shekhar Shukla informed, "Following the success of three editions of the Skydiving festival and enthusiasm of tourists towards adventure activities, the fourth edition (for three months) is being organised in Ujjain this time. Adventure lovers will be able to experience the thrill of flying in the sky at Datana Airstrip in Ujjain. The time for skydiving will be from 8 am to 5 pm. Shukla highlighted that the organising body Sky-high India would use a special sky-diving aircraft New CESSNA 182P (fully modified for sky-diving) in this edition with a total capacity of six members, of which two participants would be able to skydive with two instructors at a time.
He further expressed hope that over 1000 participants were expected to participate in the three months skydiving fest. Other airbase activities would also be conducted along with skydiving in the future in the state.
The skydiving fest will be conducted by "Sky-High India", an organisation certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and United States Parachute Association (USPA). The aircrafts used in skydiving are registered with the Directorate of Civil Aviation.
