"They do not know anything about Bihar": Pappu Yadav hits out at Jan Suraaj party chief Prashant Kishor

Patna (Bihar) [India], October 19 : Independent MP from Bihar's Purnia, Pappu Yadav on Saturday hit out at Jan Suraaj party chief Prashant Kishor and alleged that the political strategist-turned-politician and the two candidates announced by Kishor for Belaganj and Imamganj assembly by-polls had no knowledge about Bihar.
"All the looters IAS, IPS are being called core team. Many people do not have social knowledge. They think that everything happens for money... They do not know anything about Bihar... They are making retired people sit and saying that I will bring about a revolution. If you want to bring about a revolution, try stopping corruption. It costs 400 rupees to change the number on the Aadhaar card, try changing it... Where were you during the floods?" Yadav told ANI.
Hitting out at Kishor alleging that the Jan Suraaj leader had advocated for ending prohibition on alcohol on the day of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 - when Kishor launched his party.
"You were forming a party on the day of the floods and on Gandhi Jayanti, you were saying that you would start liquor. Didn't you die of shame? First, stop the poisonous liquor and give money to 51 people... They go on tours worth billions of rupees and they don't have money," he added.
Notably, Prashant Kishor has vowed to end the liquor ban in Bihar immediately if elected to power.
He further hit out at the Bihar government for the hooch tragedy and said that the excise minister should be asked within 20 years how many excise departments have been discharged.
"The excise minister should be asked that within 20 years how many excise departments have been discharged, suspended or sent to jail. He should be asked how much amount of liquor has been caught," Pappu Yadav said.
Prashant Kishor on Saturday fielded Khilafat Hussain and Jitendra Paswan from the Belaganj and Imamganj constituencies, for the upcoming by-elections in Bihar.
The bypolls in Bihar will be held in Ramgarh, Tarari, Imamganj and Belaganj.
The bypolls are spread over 15 states - Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
While polling will be held on 47 assembly seats and Wayanad Lok Sabha seat on November 13, it will be held on one assembly constituency in Uttarakhand and Nanded constituency in Maharashtra on November 20.
The assembly elections in Bihar are likely to be held in October-November 2025.
