"Uttar Pradesh will show the exit door to the BJP": Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav

May 06, 2024

Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 6 : Exuding confidence on the outcome of Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav on Monday said that people of Uttar Pradesh will show the exit door to the Bharatiya Janata Party from the state adding that BJP will not even find a space to put their foot in the third phase of elections.
"The whole nation has never been with the BJP. But due to split in votes they get into power. They are not winning anything in the South. Uttar Pradesh will show the exit door to the BJP. They are badly defeated in the first two phases. In the third phase, BJP will not even find a space to put their foot in," Ram Gopal Yadav told ANI.
Ram Gopal Yadav further said that Prime Minister Modi and the BJP have to be removed from the power to save the country.
"Opposition and INDIA alliance are also saying that if the country needs to be saved, PM Modi should be removed (from power), the Country is drowned in poverty, and businessmen are in a bad situation. We're in a situation where people are scared to say something because they fear that a case of treason will be filed against them," he said.
He further said that the BJP always digress from the real issues such as the economy and unemployment.
"They (BJP) talk about only 'parivaarvad', Ram temple, Muslims and Hindus. They never talk about unemployment and economy. In UP, the papers of every exam get leaked. People are saying that govt themselves is leaking the papers because they don't want to give jobs to anyone. BJP keeps saying that they will change the constitution but the INDIA alliance is fighting this election to save the constitution, we are fighting this election to provide jobs to girls and boys and save the reservation," he said.
Ram Gopal Yadav further said that the BJP is trying to get the help of the administration in the elections but the election is totally in his party's favour.
"BJP is scared and they're trying to get the help of the administration. Under their regime, there were a lot of probes against opposition leaders under sections 107 and 117 CrPC, and red cards were issued, I wrote to the Election Commission regarding this...opposition leaders were issued red cards by the Police and threatened not to come to booth and campaign, they were abused and demoralised. These cards were issued only to opposition leaders not to the leaders of the party which is in power. This is not going to affect our voters, the election is totally in Samajwadi Party's favour," he said.
Meanwhile, ahead of the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, slated for May 7, there is confidence in the BJP camp in Uttar Pradesh to once again gain an edge over the opposition, as in the previous two phases. Elections will be held on ten seats in Uttar Pradesh in the third phase.
Notably, all candidates on these 10 seats (Sambhal, Bareilly, Budaun, Etah, Aonla, Fatehpur Sikri, Hathras, Firozabad, Mainpuri, and Agra) are from the BJP. During these rallies and public meetings, CM Yogi has urged beneficiaries of both central and state government schemes in the state to participate actively in the voting process.
The UP government has fostered self-reliance among UP's citizens through initiatives such as providing pensions for the destitute, elderly, and the differently abled. As part of these efforts, 6,41,702 women in the 10 constituencies are receiving a monthly pension of Rs 1000 under the Destitute Women's Pension Scheme. Similarly, 11,40,101 elderly individuals are benefiting from the Elderly Pension Scheme and 1,14,926 are differently abled from the Divyang Pension Scheme.
Moreover, on these 10 Lok Sabha seats, 37,249 mass marriages for daughters have been organized. Similarly, 2,06,266 girls have availed themselves of the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, which offers financial assistance at various stages from birth to graduation. Initially providing Rs 15,000, the government recently increased this assistance to Rs 25,000 under the scheme.
Furthermore, bank accounts have been opened for 69,77,096 people under PM Jan Dhan Yojana in the 10 constituencies while 42,93,385 people have been issued Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards. Likewise, in these 10 Lok Sabha constituencies, excluding the Agra-Fatehpur Sikri seat, 25,68,180 ration cardholders are benefiting from the free ration scheme.
