Amit Shah flags off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat express train

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat train on October 03 from Delhi. Several other ministers also attended the event including Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Harsh Vardhan and Minister of State in PMO, Jitendra Singh. The train will bring down the travel time between Delhi and Katra, the last station on the way to Vaishno Devi temple, to eight hours from the current 12 hours. The luxury all air-conditioned chair car service with 16 coaches is an engine-less self-propelled train set which allows for faster acceleration and deceleration, therefore reducing travel time by 40 percent.
