Speaking to media persons, Thakur said, “I would like to congratulate PV Sindhu on behalf of country and GoI. Brilliant performance. She has again uplifted pride and honour of the tricolour by clinching Singapore Open. PM Modi continuously encouraged sports with Fit India Movement and Khelo India.” “PM Modi has always talked to all players before any major tournament and met them afterwards for encouragement and to boost their morale. Congrats to PV Sindhu once again and gratitude to PM Modi for the encouragement to players and sports,” he added.
