Bihar: 39 villagers booked for protesting against AES, police reach to re-investigate the case

Vaishali (Bihar), Jun 26 (ANI): A unit of police today arrived to re-investigate a case in Bihar’s Vaishali. An FIR was lodged against 39 people in Harivanshpur village, Vaishali district of Bihar after they protested over lack of water supply and death of several children due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in the area. The death toll due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) mounted to 132 in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district today. The fear of AES has forced people to leave their homes and shift to other places. AES is a viral disease that causes flu like symptoms such as high fever, vomiting, and in extreme cases brain dysfunction.
