Devotees flock to witness Thrissur Pooram festival in Kerala

Thrissur (Kerala), May 14 (ANI): Thrissur Pooram festival is a cultural celebration held annually at the Vadakkunnathan Temple, Kerala. Pooram consists of ten temples in and around Thrissur. It is considered to be a ceremony where deities come together to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva at the Vadakumnathan Temple. The annual festival is considered as the mother of all temple festivals in the state. The tusker, Thechikottukavu Ramachandran, symbolically pushed open the gate of the temple, signaling the start of the festivities.
