Samba (Jammu and Kashmir), Jun 25 (ANI): Locals in Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K) Samba district are facing great difficulty in cases of medical need. The only hospital in the area does not have sufficient number of doctors or basic facilities. Despite being a district hospital, it lacks sufficient number of doctors and other provisions to deal with urgent medical cases. A local said, “This maybe a district hospital but there are not even basic facilities here. There are very few doctors. If a doctor gets transferred, he never comes back, no doctor comes in his replacement, if a patient comes in emergency he is referred to Jammu.” Deputy Medical Superintendent of hospital Dr Anju Kumari said, “6 doctors are on leave. Orthopedic section has doctors so services are being given there, surgeons are here, physician is also on leave. We have only 3 doctors for casualties. It is tough to run the hospital with only 3 doctors.”
