Exhibition to promote Kashmiri arts organised in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 16 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir government organised an exhibition to help artisans and promote Kashmiri arts in Srinagar. It was organised by the Department of Handicrafts and Handlooms at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC). The purpose of the exhibition was to help artisans and overall promote the handicraft sector in Kashmir. Dozens of stalls including carpets, shawls, walnut products, crewel, chain stitches, willow wicker and others things were installed in the exhibition. These types of exhibitions are very important to help the artisans and overall promote the handicraft sector. Presently, the tourist influx is increasing day-by-day after COVID and these types of exhibitions are attracting them at large scale. For the last few years, artisan community faces different type of hardships as they are not getting proper response from customers. People lauded the department of handicraft and handlooms for this initiative.
