Gujarat’s Housing Drive Empowers Marginalized Tribes in Rajkot
Apr 24, 2025
Rajkot [Gujarat], April 24 (ANI): Rampara Beti village, near Rajkot, is undergoing a transformation with a 2019 Gujarat government initiative providing permanent homes to marginalized communities, including nomadic tribes like the Bajania, Lohar, Devi Pujak, and Banjaras. 65 families now live in the Sanjivani Society, where NGOs have helped secure interest-free loans to reduce financial burdens. The project aims to preserve traditional livelihoods while offering modern housing, aligning with national missions like Housing for All and Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. It serves as a model for empowering India's most marginalized communities.
