Trichy (Tamil Nadu), December 30: The Hanuman Jayanti festival is celebrated in a grand manner at the Sri Anjaneyar Temple in Kallukuzhi, Trichy. The temple sees the offering of 1,00,008 ‘vada maalai’ (garland of vadas) to the deity. A large number of devotees from across Trichy offer prayers at the temple, marking a significant celebration of the birth of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Jayanti is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Hanuman, a prominent figure in the Ramayana. The celebration of Hanuman Jayanti varies by time and tradition in each state of India. In most northern states, it is observed on the full-moon day of the Hindu month of Chaitra (Chaitra Purnima).
