The first batch of eight cheetahs were translocated from Namibia to India .After receiving first batch, India is working with SA and Namibia for reintroduction of more Cheetahs. The information was shared by executive director of Cheetah Conservation Fund, Laurie Marker. Laurie Marker coordinated translocation of cheetahs from to India. Speaking to ANI, Marker said, Since its extinction, you can only get animals from somewhere else. This is the only population of cheetahs actually large enough to use for reintroduction and to establish a population, we must bring in more.
