Indian Army presents scholarships to J&K students

Udhampur (J&K), May 20 (ANI): Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command of Indian Army on Monday presented financial aid to 71 students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) category. The aid provided under ‘Operation Sadhbavana’ to needy children included scholarship to the tune of Rs 1.45 crores. The event was organised in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur. During the event, the students were handed over the scholarship certificates and cheques which cover the complete expenditure of their schools to include education fees, boarding, lodging and transportation. Indian Army in its unique initiative of Operation Sadbhavana carries out series of civic action programmes to alleviate the problems of the civil population in the terrorist affected / remote areas of J&K.
