J&K: Wular Lake Festival organised in Bandipora to boost tourism

Bandipora (J&K), Aug 31 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department organised the Wular Festival on the banks of Wular Lake in Bandipora district of North Kashmir. It was organised in collaboration with the Indian Army. It was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Pandurang Kondbarao Pole along with senior Police and Army officers. The main purpose of the festival was to encourage locals and generate awareness about the cultural potential of Wular. The event displayed extraordinary culture of Kashmir. Young artists, especially girls and women performed local folk songs, dances and it spoke volumes of the artistic capabilities of the Kashmiri youth. It consisted of Sufiyana Music, Qawwali, concert by the Jazz Band, Pipe Band Display, Rouf Dance, Martial Arts Demonstration, Kashmiri Chakri. All the local people witnessed this unique festival in Wular Lake. Wular Lake is Asia’s largest freshwater lake and it helps in boosting the tourism in Kashmir.
