KT Rama Rao urges PM Modi to intervene to rescind order in Bilkis Bano case

Hyderabad, August 17 (ANI): Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao on August 17 urged Prime Minister Modi to reverse the Gujarat government’s order to release 11 people convicted to life imprisonment in the Bilkis Bano rape case under its remission policy. Speaking to ANI, Rao said, “I request PM to intervene in a matter where Bilkis Bano's rapists were released and reverse Gujarat Govt's order as it's sending out a wrong message that a rapist walks out of jail & is welcomed. Changes should be made to IPC, CrPC and Juvenile Justice Act.”
