LS polls: To instill confidence in voters, 547 quick action teams will be deployed, says WB CRPF IG

Kolkata, May 09 (ANI): Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), West Bengal S. Raveendran, spoke about the preparations for sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state. He said, “Taking into consideration the past poll violence, the 8 constituencies which are going to vote in left wing extremist areas, around 602 Central Armed Police Forces are being deployed, also 112 state armed police from different states are being deployed.” He further added, “To instill confidence in voters we are deploying around 547 quick action teams headed by company commanders and 108 additional quick action teams headed by ad hoc commandants and two ICs. These additional reinforcement are apart from the mandatory quick reaction teams.”
