LS polls: Meet 34-year-old specially-abled man who will work as 3rd polling officer in WB

North Dinajpur District (West Bengal), Apr 17 (ANI): A 34-year-old specially-abled Shamim Akhtar, a resident of West Bengal’s Islampur, is working as a third polling officer in Chopra area of West Bengal’s North Dinajpur district. He is not only working as a polling officer, but he is also encouraging people to cast their votes and extend moral support to the physically challenged persons. While speaking to ANI, Shamim Akhtar said, “My main role is to switch on the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM). It is my duty to serve the nation as a part of the elections and I am enjoying it."
