Meet Maryam, a single woman who got new lease of life with Umeed Scheme

Tangmarg (J&K), Sept 02 (ANI): Maryam, a divorced woman, is one of the beneficiaries of Umeed Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir. She hails from the Tangmarg area of Baramulla district of North Kashmir. She started her own shop with the help of this scheme where she is earning for herself and for her family. Umeed Scheme is run by the National Rural Livelihood Mission to reach out the rural population across the blocks and link them to sustainable livelihood opportunities. Maryam is now trying to help others through this scheme. She also wanted to give education to the next generation. She wants more women to get involved in this scheme and earn livelihood. She believed that under the scheme, women get help in setting up their business easily. She became an inspiration for others and many women visited her to get suggestions about this scheme. She is now earning a livelihood for her and her family.
