National conference on ‘Recent Trends in Plant Biology’ conducted in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 08 (ANI): A 3-day-long national conference on ‘Recent Trends in Plant Biology’ was conducted by CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) in Srinagar on September 07. It was organised to bring together plant biologists from across the country to deliver inspiring talks and share their latest research experiences. Since the economy of Jammu and Kashmir is mostly dependent on agriculture and horticulture and Himalayas in Kashmir is home to a wide variety of medicinal plants, it is imperative for plant biologists to stay updated with the latest research trends and cutting-edge research techniques and technologies to make best use of resources. Eminent scientists presented their work on recent research in plant sciences and different topics related to plant sciences. It got a huge response by the researchers and scholars as they learnt from the scientists about the plant biology which helps them in their research. The participants appreciated this step.
