Mumbai (India), Mar 22 (ANI): Japan’s NTT DATA and NTT Group have unveiled plans to expand and strengthen data center capabilities across India, reinforcing their commitment to advancing digital infrastructure. With the digitalization of social activities, data centres must evolve to handle large volumes of transactions quickly and efficiently while optimizing energy consumption. In India, NTT DATA currently operates 21 data centres across four cities and plans to expand to 30 data centres in five cities. Three data centres in Mumbai are interconnected using IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network) technology, enabling faster, high-capacity, and energy-efficient transactions. Indian data centres are connected to Asian and Pacific countries via submarine cables, with future expansion plans extending to the USA and Europe for global coverage. NTT ranks as the world’s third-largest player in the data centre industry. To strengthen its leadership position, NTT DATA is establishing data centre campuses to drive business growth and enhance collaboration with various partners. IOWN technology enables faster, high-capacity, and energy-efficient data transactions. The NTT Group is committed to facilitating sustainable data transactions through advanced technology. Investments in submarine cables and IOWN technology will be key drivers of this initiative.
