Proud parents express their happiness over Neeraj Chopra’s historic Diamond League trophy win

Panipat (Haryana), September 09 (ANI): Olympics Javelin throw champion Neeraj Chopra on September 08 won the prestigious Diamond League title. With this, he became the first Indian to win the title. On September 09 his parents celebrated his win in his hometown, Panipat, Haryana.His mother Saroj Devi said, “He has done really well. He has won a medal for India. We have not talked for 10-12 days. We are grateful to God that he gets well soon and participates in his game and wins another medal for the country.”His father Satish Kumar said, “Earlier too he had participated in the Diamond League. Once he ended up in the 7th position and another time in the 4th position. This time his preparations convinced us that he will win the title of the Diamond league and enhance the country’s reputation. Julian Weber was his main competitor. It was a cut-throat competition which Neeraj finally won. He has won the first Diamond League title in the history of India. His throw covered a distance of 88.45 m. This opened the way to his victory.”
