Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award renamed as ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’

New Delhi, Aug 06 (ANI): The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award has been renamed as ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that the decision has been taken to respect the sentiments of citizens from all across the country Congress leader K Suresh reacted over it and said, “It's unfortunate. Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister of India, he led the country into the 21st century. He encouraged sports, youth. This Government wants to saffronise and that's why they gave another name.”
