SAD leaders request PM Modi to release ‘Bandi Singhs’

New Delhi, July 20, (ANI): Shiromani Akali Dal MPs, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal demanded the release of ‘Bandi Singhs’ from Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh as they have completed their punishment. ‘Bandi Singhs’ are Sikhs of Punjab who were arrested for alleged involvement in militant activities, charged under law, found guilty of various crimes and meted out sentences ranging from death to different terms of imprisonment.Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “Shiromani Akali Dal is continuously requesting the government that 22 people of Sikh community are in jail for 25 to 30 years. They have completed their sentence but are not being released. Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised the Sikh Community that they would be released but this has not yet happened. We are bringing forth this issue in the Parliament.”
