Screening of ‘Footprints’ gives hope to cinema lovers in Kashmir valley

Srinagar, July 22 (ANI): Cinema lovers are enjoying screening of feature film ‘Footprints’ at Tagore Hall in Srinagar. It was produced and directed by Kashmir-based filmmaker Javed Bandey who is trying hard to revive film culture in valley. Since last three decades, cinema halls have been closed in the valley. As a result, youths are deprived of entertainment. For the last few years, some theatre lovers are making efforts to revive the film culture and other theatre activities so that youths get a platform to show their hidden talent. This year, the government was planning to organise five-day film festival in the month of June. Due to COVID, the date of the film festival has been changed now. Film lovers including Javed Bandey are also working on different projects. ‘Footprints’ has been screening in Tagore Hall. It is a story of four friends and based on different issues including day-to-day life of people of Kashmir. Producer and Director Javed Bandey also highlights the mesmerising beauty, culture and tradition of the valley to attract the people. The film by Javed Bandey in collaboration with Actors Creative Theatre (ACT) and prominent theatre director Mushtaque Ali Ahmad Khan has brought cheer on the faces of cinema and art lovers in the valley. They hope that such type of initiative will help in reviving film culture in the valley.
