Srinagar, Aug 26 (ANI): Sufi Festival enthralled jam-packed audience especially students at Kashmir University. It was organised by the Department of Students Welfare in Convocation Centre. The festival was held under the banner of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. It was organised with an aim to pay tribute to Legendary Sufi Poet Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah. The main purpose of the festival was to revive the Sufiyana, Classical and Folk music and provide a platform to talented youths of the valley. During the festival, different kinds of cultural bonanza were presented by musical and cultural groups. 2,500 people including professors, scholars and students were present during the festival. Participants and audiences were also enjoying the festival. Sufiyana, classical, folk music and overall Sufi poetry are famous and consider as the backbone of Kashmir as per the cultural and traditional point of view. But for the last two years due to the COVID, such types of activities were restricted by the government. So that’s why after a long gap, youths got a chance to show their hidden talent. This type of festival will help in promoting the old-aged Sufi culture and reducing the mental stress.
