We respect him but will raise questions: Defence Minister on considering Rajiv Gandhi as martyr

Bhopal (MP), May 09 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday addressed a public rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal. Answering a question asked about does she consider former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi as a martyr or not, she said, “Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister of the country. We all know in which unfortunate situation he became a martyr and for that we respect him, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t talk about the corruption during his governance, about the misrule during his governance, about the Bhopal gas tragedy in which he helped Anderson to leave the country.” “We know where to give respect but will raise questions, whenever it is required.”
