Workshop to promote Kashmiri art organised in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 06 (ANI): A prominent Non-Governmental Organisation named Jammu and Kashmir Help Foundation (JKHF) organised a specific workshop in Srinagar. It aimed to uplift artisan community and promote Kashmiri Art. During the workshop, artisans were given live demonstration of different artwork. Artisans were given live demonstrations of different artwork including paper mache, wood carving, embroidery, willow wicker, Sozni, pottery, cotton spinning and shawl work. The event attracted a good number of visitors. These unique handicraft products are playing a vital role in generating employment and depicting old aged art of Kashmir. With the help of these products, the cultural and traditional activities are still alive in the valley and artisan community is also playing a very big role to enhance it. The organisers promised to the participants that they will try their level best to continue such types of workshops in future.
